The Triathlon World Championship events took place between 17 and 20 October. More than 5,500 athletes came to the Costa del Sol to compete in the different championships in male and female categories, as diverse as those who participated in the subsections of Age Groups, Aquabike, Relay, Para-Triathlon, World Under-23, World Junior and Elite. The latter category was attended by most of the triathletes who recently competed in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
As for the Physiotherapy service itself, 427 treatments were carried out in the recovery area of the event, attending triathletes from 50 countries. Most of them came from Mexico (75 athletes), USA (68), Great Britain (54), Canada (30) and Germany (22).
As regards the results, the French Cassandre Beaugrand was proclaimed World Champion in the women's category (she was already Olympic champion in Paris), while the New Zealander Hayden Wilde did the same in the men's category. The triathlete from Malaga, Alberto Gonzalez, who is studying Physiotherapy at the UMA, was 19th.

Thousands of spectators watched the race in the nerve center of this world series, which offered a great sporting spectacle, although the death of two veteran triathletes was regrettable.
