Training activity on pain management in elite athletes with players from the Club Unicaja Women's Basketball first team.
On the afternoon of February 24, part of our team went to the José María Martín Carpena Sports Palace to accompany the Unicaja – Mijas women's team in a talk on health and pain in female athletes.
We discussed topics related to injury, the menstrual cycle, and training load in relation to pain. The players also shared some of their experiences on and off the court, and together with their technical team, they explored interesting ideas about how aspects such as the social, emotional, and even cultural context of each player could be related to health, performance, and pain.
This training event is part of the "Pain and Sport" initiative of the Chair of Health and Pain at the University of Malaga in collaboration with the Unicaja Foundation.
We greatly appreciate your participation and the warm welcome you gave us.
Good luck for the rest of the season!
